New rules for Hasbro's Q & A for 2010

New rules for Hasbro's Q & A for 2010

Postby Rockshield on Fri Feb 19, 2010 9:15 pm

Just received these new rules today.... this will now allow hasbro to completely skip some questions submitted now....

· The 2010 Q&A is five (5) rounds, not including the January 2010 round (already completed).

· For every round, each participating site is allowed to submit three (3) questions, at least one (1) of which will be answered. The remaining questions of the 40 total submitted to Hasbro will be the “best of the rest.”

· Additionally, we will give all participants answers to all the questions, once each site is give 48 hours to post their own. That way, each of you will, in essence, have 40 questions for each round to post to their own site.

· If you represent more than one outlet, you must submit a separate email containing your questions for EACH site. (So if you represent two sites, you send in two emails, each with their respective questions.)

· Your email containing Q&A submissions should have a subject line in this format: GIJ Q&A Date of submission deadline (MM/DD) – Site Name – First Last.

· In the body of your email, the top-most line should have the following information: Outlet – First Name Last Name

· Please do not include phrases like “Dear Hasbro” or “From USER NAME” or any likeness of this.

· Please format the numbers in your email like this: “#)” - Not “Q#:” or “#.” or any other alternative (Example: 1) How many….)

It's not like their answers weren't relatively predictable anyway. It's like their saying, "Since we don't really answer questions we don't like, we'll no longer insult you by giving a canned PR answer."
If your going to send someone to save the world, make sure they like it the way it is.

Maybe this is a good change.

My suggestion at Joecustoms was to only ask one question...but ask it in 3 different ways...that way "in theory" they'll answer your one question instead of being able to toss out Hard, or repetitive questions.

That said:

In previous GI Joe Q&A's we have gotten the canned answer "Generally speaking we do not release images of works in progress..." Yet, in answering a Star Wars Q&A, prototype figures and design sheets were shared, This has also happened in a Transformers Q&A. Why leave GI Joe fans in the dark? How about making it up to us by showing us a little something from the designers desk?

We see the delay in POC figures untill Fall 10 was to re-tool a number of heads on the figures so they don't look so much like the movie actors. What will Hasbro do with the Tooling that was created for the "Movie Likeness" heads?

How is costing done? Is it done per figure, or per wave? Do all figures have a maximum that they get close to? or do some go over because their case-mate stayed under?

i can answer both these questions with the same answer. it is not hasbro's policy to answer these types of questions

Yeah those are two questions that I think are excellent and I would love to know the answers to.... but I agree with dg that I couldn't see any other answer than that.

i think the only way to get answers to questions like that is become a share holder and ask the head honchos those questions at a share holders meeting. obviously they wouldnt field those questions during the meeting but, i suspect you would be able to meet the right poeple to ask before or after.

I have a question I want to ask.. but I don't know if it has been asked elsewhere.... but why the hell was the Rhino released with the vintage style pegs, and was anything done to prevent this huge embarrassing quality control mishap in the future...

"we at hasbro strive to provide the best quality at the best price. we felt changing the foot pegs would raised the price out of the target price point. we do try to take every step possible to make sure kids can enjoy the fantasy."

thats your answer rock.

Speaking of footpegs, here's a new idea...

I'm looking at the 25th style figures and the new smaller footpeg is center to front of the foot.
Why not put both footpeg holes on the foot? There's room enough. It looks like it would work to me. :thumbsup
