This is the ongoing dio-story discussion thread.
Comments, critiques, suggestions and anything else are all welcome.

I've been picking up dio props for years with the intention of making dio-stories in the future. Since the idea and opportunity came up for a JOHIO dio-story, I can put it all to use now. Thanks to Rock too for offering to host the files and setting me up with a folder to drop the files into. I'm all set up to add to the story.

Did you notice the water on the Chinook? That was real rain. The picture of the Chinook flying in the night sky was taken outside at night when it was raining.

We need to find a bald character to play the prison shrink who talks to Cobra Commander once he's incarcerated. They could talk about how he passes out when he gets worked up... ala Tony Soprano

What kind of ideas were you looking for in particular?

I'm looking for a volunteer "critiquer". Preferably someone with either customizing, photography or dio skill themself. It would be helpful to have another person take a look and bounce ideas during production phase. Of course, that would not be as much fun perhaps as just seeing the final product since you'd get all the spoilers, but it would be fun in a different way.

One "idea" that's been suggested is to use some of the forum board codenames to be used for some of the greenshirts that may interact with the JOHIO Unit. Perhaps, that could possibly be a "prize" for a future board contest too?

Really, the floor is open for any ideas. We'll bounce it and see if it can work into the script.
My main limitation right now is the capability of my "mediocre" camera.

I'm thinking, for those interested, maybe we should do something along the line of folks making their own personal customs that can either be used in the dio stories or they can do their own with the same batch of characters and connect to the main storyline. I think it would be kind of fun to do that and include that person's personality traits as well. For instance, Nick, aka Alley Viper, could be some kind of code breaker. I would be up for that. People could even do their own profiles etc. I could see something like nova taking on a Crystal Ball Cloning facility and stuff like that. Just an idea that I think would be fun and entertaining.

As far as critiques go, I love the storyline. Not too serious and some good humor as well. I'm enjoying the interactions and direction so far as well. My only recommendations would be to try using a white light (all spectrum natural) light when shooting pics to get rid of the yellowed look from fluorescents and regular incandescents. The pictures are much clearer this time around too. I know that's usually the camera so you gotta work with what you got.

Overall, great stuff and I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. I think it would be great if more folks here got involved as well.

If anyone wants to send me a self-custom, I guarantee I'll work it into the story.
If anyone wants to add their own "JOHIO DIO-STORY" additions that'd be awesome too. We'll just add a "special missions" section to the frontpage or something like that.

Anyone notice the GIJOE symbol from the movie worked in? ...and the screen reflection off the table top? ...Now that the unit is put together and trained in Chapter 1&2, they can start doing actual missions with the next chapter.

Im surprised how much I am liking Slaughter's inclusion with the boys.

I also noticed that nobody said "cheese" at the end of chapter 2

Where did that tent come from in chapter 2? I have the same exact thing but I cannot figure out where it came from...

I belive it was a CORPS tent but I'm not positive. I bought one quite a while back and I can't remember the packaging for sure. And yeah, I'm not a Slaughter fan, but it was a nice addition to the story.

I also think the command tent was a Lanard Corps product offering and I'm pretty sure I got that from smalljoes several years ago.

You'll hardly ever find a military photo where people are smiling anyway. The stern face is kinda standard that way.
...Flicker was only being facetious to them when he told them to say "CHEEZE".

Your General Hawk in chapter 1 looks a darker shade of green than my comic pack Hawk. Did you recolor the photo or switch out the body?

Yep. I put the General Hawk comic pack head on one of the ARAH Greenshirts body from the TRU set. Gung-ho's cap fits on that headsculpt very nice too. The cap was laying on the table in the picture. Hats off indoors.

DId you get a new camera? the opening scene is really bad visually, but then it gets MUCH better and no more fuzz afterwards...
